[05/20/03 - 12:00 AM] NBC Commits to Second Round of 'Love Or Money' By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC) |
|
CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) - Despite not even premiering yet, NBC has renewed its upcoming reality series "For Love or Money" for a second season. Peacock executives were reportedly so impressed with the footage from its inaugural installment, they gave the greenlight for a second go around.
The series, like FOX's "Joe Millionaire," centers around a single man courting 15 women. The women are told in the very beginning that if the bachelor picks them as his final choice, they'll win a cool $1 million payday, something the bachelor himself is not aware of. Neither the bachelor nor the women however are aware that the real twist comes at the very end when the winner must choose between either the man or the million.
With all its various twists and turns, NBC's early pickup of the series will allow producers to sequester the second round of contestants in time before the show premieres and all is spoiled. The second season will also feature another change in format, instead of one man and 15 women it will be one woman and 15 men called upon to make the choice.
Jordan Murphy ("Boston Public") will host both installments, each being six weeks, with the first bowing on Monday, June 2 at 9:00/8:00c with a special two-hour premiere.
