Lifetime, ABC Family Set Summer Dates
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Cable channels Lifetime and ABC Family are set to bow a handful of new original series this summer as various sources have revealed firm launch dates for their respective projects.

Here's a breakdown of what to expect:

-- Lifetime will launch its two new drama series "Wild Card" and "1-800-Missing" on Saturday, August 2. The former, about a former Las Vegas blackjack dealer (Joely Fisher) who stumbles into a career as an insurance fraud investigator, kicks things off at 9:00/8:00c followed by "Missing," about an F.B.I. agent (Gloria Reuben) who partners with a young psychic woman (Katerina Scorson), at 10:00/9:00c.

-- As previously announced, ABC Family's revival of "Dance Fever" is set to bow Sunday, July 13 at 7:00/6:00c with a two-hour special. The following week, the dance competition series will be joined by the network's original movie "Lucky Seven," starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Patrick Dempsey, at 8:00/7:00c.

-- Then on July 27, ABC Family will launch its new dating series "Perfect Match: New York" at 8:00/7:00c followed by the six-week limited series "Tying the Knot: The Wedding of Melissa Joan Hart & Mark Wilkerson" at 9:00/8:00c. Along with "Dance Fever," the three-hour block marks the largest original primetime commitment in the network's history.
