CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- CBS has put the kibosh on its two summer comedies "Baby Bob" and "Charlie Lawrence." Both series have been yanked from the network's schedule effective immediately.
The news comes as little surprise as both series have posted embarrassing numbers since their debuts. "Charlie's" latest installment managed a paltry 1.0 rating in adults 18-49, finishing dead last in its time slot among the major networks. "Bob" fared little better last Friday with a 1.2 rating in the demographic, tying "Dateline NBC" for last in its slot.
The Eye will sub encores of "The Price Is Right" in for "Baby Bob" for the next two weeks until "Big Brother 4's" Friday edition takes over the slot on July 11. As for "Charlie," CBS has a repeat of "C.S.I.: Miami" on tap for this Sunday however no permanent replacement has been named. Five episodes of both "Charlie" and "Bob" remain in the can.
