CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has pulled the plug on its sophomore comedy "Wanda at Large," sources close to the show confirmed yesterday.
The news comes as little surprise as the series hasn't aired since November 7 and wasn't slated to return at all this month (read the story). Movies and specials will continue to fill the show's Friday, 8:00/7:00c time slot for the foreseeable future.
For its six regularly scheduled broadcasts this season, "Wanda" averaged 4.1 million viewers and a 1.7 rating/6 share among adults 18-49. Both scores came in behind last season's Friday, 8:00/7:00c entry "Firefly" through the same period (4.9 million viewers, 2.4 rating among adults 18-49).
In total eight episodes of "Wanda" have aired this season, leaving five installments on the shelf. Bruce Helford, Deborah Oppenheimer, Brian Hargrove and Jack Kenny were the executive producers of the series, which came from Warner Bros. Television and Mohawk Productions.
