CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC has moved the premiere of "Celebrity Mole Yucatan" up a week, opting to kick off the franchise's fourth installment on Wednesday, January 7 at 10:00/9:00c.
"Life After Extreme Makeover," an all-new "Extreme Makeover" special, will precede the show at 9:00/8:00c that night. The new season of "The Bachelorette" will then take over the Wednesday, 9:00/8:00c hour the following week as previously announced.
Meanwhile in other ABC news, as expected the Alphabet announced this week it plans to air movies on Monday nights once "Monday Night Football" concludes later this month. A series of three-hour theatricals will fill the night beginning in January. Among the scheduled roster are "Castaway" (January 5), "Gladiator" (January 12) and "Armageddon" (January 26).
Finally, the network has also scheduled "Life of Luxury," a backdoor pilot for a potential series, for Monday, December 29 at 8:00/7:00c. In the one-hour special, "Robin Leach is back to give America a tour into the conspicuous consumptions of the wealthy, famous, and ostentatious," according to a network press release. "Robin will be our eyes and ears into a world that we can only fantasize. He gives us access to celebrities and multi-millionaires as they flaunt and celebrate their own jaw dropping excess." The special will lead into part two of ABC's mini-series "Dreamkeeper."
