CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- "Star Trek: Enterprise" is moving beyond The Expanse into a new time slot come March as UPN revealed several post-February sweeps schedule changes today.
The sci-fi drama is set to move to Wednesdays at 9:00/8:00c beginning March 10. That same night, the network's midseason CGI-comedy "Game Over" will kick off at 8:00/7:00c followed by the return of "The Mullets" at 8:30/7:30c.
The news comes on the heels of persistent rumors about the future of the latest "Star Trek" spin-off. Despite a major storyline revamp, "Enterprise" is averaging 4.04 million viewers for its first-run episodes this season, down 18.54% from the same point last season (4.96 million). Overall, nearly half of the show's audience (47.87%) has been lost since its inaugural season in year-to-year comparisons (7.75 million).
Nevertheless, "Enterprise" won't be airing fresh installments for a while in its new home. Its March 3 episode, "Azati Prime," is currently the last original scheduled until April 21. Interestingly enough, "Game Over" its expected to wrap its six-episode run on April 14 meaning "Enterprise" could very well resume its old Wednesday, 8:00/7:00c slot on the 21st.
As for "The Mullets," the comedy will rejoin the netlet's schedule for the first time in over five months. UPN placed the show on hiatus back in October and has seven installments left over from its original 13-episode production order.
Meanwhile, UPN has shored up its February sweeps schedule, updating its original plans announced earlier this month (read the story):
-- As expected, repeats of "America's Next Top Model" will continue to fill the Wednesday, 9:00/8:00c hour during the month, replacing the canceled drama "Jake 2.0."
-- The network's Friday movie schedule has been updated with "The Astronaut's Wife" on February 5, "Shaft" on February 12, "Chill Factor" on February 19 and "Mercury Rising" on February 26.
-- Back-to-back original episodes of "All of Us" are now slated for February 17 beginning at 8:00/7:00c. The episodes, "Jonny Come Lately?" parts one and two, feature the return of actor/executive producer Will Smith to the show. The move bumps the "One on One" episode "The Catch" to February 24. Lastly, the "All of Us" episode "Boxing" has been scheduled for February 10 with "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" airing on February 24.
