Netlets Give Return Dates for 'Jamie Kennedy,' 'Rock Me Baby'

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Two long absent series, "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment" and "Rock Me Baby," are set to return to the respective schedules of the WB and UPN in March, both networks revealed over the weekend.

"Jamie Kennedy," which hasn't aired since January 15, will return to the Frog's Thursday, 9:00/8:00c time period on March 4 with back-to-back new episodes (#315 and #316). The WB had been airing encores of "The Surreal Life" in the Thursday, 9:00/8:00c slot since January 22. It's not clear however how long "Jamie Kennedy" will remain in the slot as it's expected the WB will once again run encores of "High School Reunion" on Thursdays after the series kicks off its second season on Sunday, March 14.

Still up in the air is the fate of former "Kennedy" lead-out "Run of the House," which also has been absent from the WB's schedule since January 15. A source close to the series however has confirmed production was halted after the show's 19th episode this season, which taped on Friday, January 23. The WB nevertheless has made no official statement about the fate of the comedy.

Meanwhile over at UPN, the netlet confirmed that its struggling comedy "Rock Me Baby" will return to its schedule on March 30 in its old Tuesday, 9:00/8:00c time period, one week after "America's Next Top Model" completes its second season. The freshman comedy has been bumped by "Model" since the show premiered on January 13.

And lastly, in other UPN-related news, the network plans to scuttle its Friday movie night in favor of encores of its existing series beginning March 12:

9:00/8:00c - "America's Next Top Model: #211" (Season Finale, Encore from March 23)

It's not clear however if UPN will continue to pre-empt its movie night in April. Please note all preliminary air date information is subject to change.
