UPN 'Still Alive' on Wednedays
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- After a dreadful showing by comedies "Game Over" and "The Mullets" on Wednesdays, UPN has targeted its new reality series "I'm Still Alive!" for the night.

The series, which uses actual footage and CGI-animated re-creations to tell the true stories of people who've survived life-threatening situations, will premiere Wednesday, April 14 at 9:00/8:00c. "Star Trek: Enterprise" shifts back to 8:00/7:00c that same night, with a rebroadcast of "Azati Prime."

Here's how UPN describes "Alive," via press release:

A SKYDIVER GETS TANGLED MID-AIR, A VICIOUS BULL BRUTALLY ATTACKS A RODEO STAR, THESE AND OTHER AMAZING STORIES OF SURVIVAL ON THE PREMIERE OF THE NEW REALITY SERIES, "IM STILL ALIVE!," WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14 AT 9:00 PM ON UPN

Dramatic Never-Before-Seen Video and Powerful, Emotional Stories of Survival

Episode #1 -- A skydiver who gets tangled and trapped in his planes gear; a rodeo star relentlessly being attacked by a vicious bull, and a fiery race-car crash that engulfs the driver in flames as his fire extinguisher runs out: these are just some of the unbelievable stories of narrow escapes and astounding recoveries that are presented in the premiere of the reality series IM STILL ALIVE!, Wednesday, April 14 (9:00-10:00, PM ET/PT) on UPN.

Other compelling and extraordinary stories include a family driving through an inferno of flames 1,000 degrees to escape a raging wildfire; a professional extreme skier who plunges 500 feet down the side of a mountain, and a motorcycle daredevil who misses a 180 foot jump and crashes underneath an enormous flat-bed truck, all miraculously surviving to tell their stories.

Each one-hour episode is filled with riveting, never-before-seen video, along with gripping and inspiring stories of people who have survived incredible, harrowing situations against all odds. Through replays and state-of-the-art animated recreations, I'M STILL ALIVE reveals the mystery behind these miracles -- just how it is that these people survived.

IM STILL ALIVE! is produced by A. Smith & Co. Arthur Smith and Kent Weed ("Paradise Hotel," "Mad Mad House") are executive producers. Michael Miller is co-executive producer.

Meanwhile in other UPN news, the network has confirmed its Friday movie franchise will return to its schedule on April 16 with the features "Blade" (April 16), "The Specialist" (April 23) and "Driven" (April 30) set to round out the month.
