'Method & Red' to Stay Put for Three More Episodes
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- "Method & Red" are staying in the suburbs for a little while longer as various industry insiders have confirmed FOX has picked up three additional installments of the series, bringing its season total to 16 episodes.

The comedy has averaged a solid but far from spectacular 6.34 million viewers and a 3.0 rating among adults 18-49 through its six airings so far this season. Said numbers are good enough to beat or tie all of FOX's newcomers this summer in both categories: "Quintuplets" (6.04 million, 3.0 adults 18-49 rating), "The Casino" (4.66 million, 2.2 adults 18-49 rating), "North Shore" (4.63 million, 2.1 adults 18-49 rating) and "The Jury" (3.32 million, 1.3 adults 18-49 rating).

"Method & Red" nevertheless has maintained only 67.88% of lead-in "The Simple Life" among total viewers (9.34 million) and 78.95% among adults 18-49 (3.8 rating). On the flip side, "Quintuplets" has retained nearly all of its "That '70s Show" lead-in: 96.95% among total viewers (6.23 million) and 96.77% among adults 18-49 (3.1 rating).

"Quintuplets" was picked up for a full season of 22 episodes earlier this month while "The Jury" will close its run after just 10 episodes. Only the fates of "The Casino" and "North Shore" remain up in the air.

As previously announced, "Method & Red" will take a break for five weeks after its broadcast tomorrow at 9:30/8:30c and return with new episodes on Wednesday, September 8.
