TBS Mixes Scavenger Hunt with Movies in New Movie Showcase: CUT TO THE CHASE

Outrageous Combination Set To Premiere in October

TBS, televisions very funny network, is gearing up to launch CUT TO THE CHASE, a new movie showcase that combines hilarious movies from TBSs extensive vault with original reality TV segments depicting a lost group trying to make their way to a specific destination to complete an assignment. CUT TO THE CHASE is slated to air Saturday afternoons, beginning in October.

TBS pioneered the movie showcase genre with our ever popular Dinner & a Movie, said Ken Schwab, senior vice president of programming for TBS and TNT. And now were taking the concept to a whole new level with CUT TO THE CHASE, which will feature not only hilarious blockbuster movies, but also a very funny show-within-a-show that depicts a group of people engaging in a no-holds-barred scavenger hunt.

CUT TO THE CHASE will open each week by introducing a family or a group of friends and then dropping them off in a strange location. Throwing up obstacles in the way will be planted comic actors playing such roles as taxi drivers, delivery people or city workers. These actors will attempt to slow down the group or send them off in the wrong direction. To make matters even more complicated, the group may be dropped off with only foreign currency, which they will need to convert to dollars before they can complete their journey.

Sponsors for the fourth quarter 2004 include Verizon, Red Lobster, Subway, Radio Shack and Outback Steakhouse, each of which will receive product integration, on-air billboards and online exposure.

TBSs movie showcases, like Movie & A Makeover, The Man-Made Movie and the ever popular Dinner & a Movie, intersperse comic segments throughout each nights movie. In true TBS movie showcase fashion, CUT TO THE CHASE will be presented the same way, with the family charged with completing their assignment by the end of the movie.

TBS is televisions very funny network, serving as home to such hot contemporary comedies as Sex and the City, Seinfeld, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond and Family Guy; high-profile original reality series, such as the upcoming The Real Gilligans Island and The Mansion; blockbuster movies; and hosted movie showcases. TBS also offers action-packed sports from the worlds of Major League Baseball and Pac 10 and Big 12 college football.

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., a Time Warner company, is a major producer of news and entertainment product around the world and a leading provider of programming for the television industry.
