BRAVO'S THIRD INSTALLMENT OF 'BACKSPIN' TRACES JENNIFER ANISTON'S CAREER BACK TO ITS ROOTS
EPISODE PREMIERES MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 AT 10:00 PM
NEW YORK -- September 1, 2004 -- Coming off one of the most successful sitcoms in television history, and recently named to the top of the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Celebrities list, Jennifer Aniston is one of entertainment's biggest stars. Bravo's "Backspin" explores the life and career that have led up to these defining moments -- in reverse -- on Monday, September 13 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Before Friends, before Polly, before Brad, and at the "root" of the Rachel haircut, Bravo's original strand, "Backspin" discovers a young actress with a dream. By stripping away the tabloid version of her life, viewers are led backwards through an emotional journey where Jennifer is discouraged by her father and betrayed by her mother, but ultimately learns to get by with a little help from her friends. Rare archival clips and first-person interviews weave a fascinating story from the inside out.
"Backspin," is a twisted take on the celebrity profile format. It examines a life in reverse beginning with a recent milestone in the star's life -- such as winning a prestigious award or becoming involved in a scandal -- and returns back to childhood in search of the defining moment that set his or her destiny in motion in order to shed light on how they came to the point in their lives. Afterwards, the storytelling is reversed again and events are replayed chronologically to illustrate the inevitable course of fate, followed by a quick recap of how the star's life has since changed. Additional episodes of the "Backspin" strand airing later this year will include Julia Roberts and Robin Williams among others.
"Backspin" is produced by TEProductions for Bravo. Danny Tepper ("Bill Clinton: Rock and Roll President") is producer for TEProductions.
