Twenty-two new episodes have been ordered, bringing the total number of episodes to 67. The series is set to resume production this November.

"'The Dead Zone' continues to perform for USA Network, delivering higher ratings with every season. It is consistently one of the top-rated shows on basic cable and we're thrilled to continue to air it on our network," said Wachtel. "We have a great relationship with Lions Gate and our whole production team, and are excited to produce a new season of a great show with them."

"'The Dead Zone's' performance this season has been extremely gratifying and we couldn't be happier about getting the greenlight for season four," said Kevin Beggs, president of programming & production, Lions Gate Television. "It's been a very rewarding experience working with our friends at USA, Piller, The Segan Company and Paramount, and we salute our wonderful cast headed by Anthony Michael Hall."

The recently concluded summer season of The Dead Zone averaged a 2.7 household rating with 3.5 million viewers tuning in weekly. The season's average was up +22% in households, +27% in P25-54 delivery and +23% in P18-49 delivery over summer season two's average.

Based on characters from the Stephen King novel, "The Dead Zone" is produced by Lions Gate Television and Paramount International Television in association with Piller and The Segan Company. The series centers on Anthony Michael Hall in the role of Johnny Smith, a man possessed of amazing psychic powers triggered by a near-fatal car accident. "The Dead Zone" also stars Nicole deBoer ("Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Rated X"), Chris Bruno ("All My Children," "Another World"), John L. Adams ("The Parenthood," "Pacific Blue") and David Ogden Stiers ("Curse of the Jade Scorpion," Lilo & Stitch) as members of Johnny's extended "family."
