SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 5 -- GSN's hit original series CELEBRITY BLACKJACK will return on a new night starting Tuesday, October 12 at 10pm with an all new tournament featuring 40 stars. Jason Alexander, Dennis Rodman and Jamie Lynn DiScala are among the fan favorites competing for $300,000 for charity in the series. Matt Vasgersian (San Diego Padres play-by-play announcer) returns as host, along with Blackjack expert "Hollywood Dave" Stann as dealer.

The series has become one of GSN's most popular original programs and has increased the time period's performance in households by 24 percent and Adults 18-49 by an impressive 60 percent.

Some of players participating this season are:

Filmed in Los Angeles, the first 10 episodes of CELEBRITY BLACKJACK features a new group of stars competing against each other at 21 hands of blackjack for the charity of their choice. The winner from each week's game will go on to compete in two semi-final match-ups. The top two winners from each semi-finals game will compete in the championship episode.

New to CELEBRITY BLACKJACK this season are the graphics that appear onscreen from time to time with statistical information pertaining to player win percentages on certain hands. For example, a player who doubles down on 11 when the dealer has 7 results in a win 62% of the time.

The premiere episode of CELEBRITY BLACKJACK features Jason Alexander, Ricki Lake, Jeff Probst and Steve Howey taking on each other and the dealer, as they vie for the $25,000 charity prize and a slot in the semi-finals round.

Viewers will have the opportunity through GSN iTV to compete with the stars by playing their own hand of blackjack against the on-air dealer and answering side bet and bonus questions. Viewers can also obtain blackjack tips via wireless text message, as well as vote on blackjack strategies. In addition, viewers can log on to http://www.gsn.com and play the "You Bet Your Stars" sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to Hollywood.

Each star will receive a minimum of $10,000 for their charity, with the winner of each first-round game receiving $25,000 and a place in the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the first place winners will receive another $75,000 and the second place winners $25,000 -- both win a seat in the final game where the four qualifiers compete for a first place prize of $200,000 and a second place prize of $50,000. The first place winner of the series earns an impressive total of $300,000 for their charity.

The winner of the first CELEBRITY BLACKJACK series was comedienne Caroline Rhea who earned a grand prize of $100,000 for her charities.

CELEBRITY BLACKJACK is produced by Pariah. Executive producer Gavin Polone's credits include "Panic Room," "Secret Window," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Gilmore Girls." Executive producer Andrew Golder's credits include "Star Search" and "Win Ben Stein's Money."
