BETTY WHITE GETS INTO THE SWIM OF THINGS IN 'ANNIE'S POINT'
During filming of "Annie's Point," a Hallmark Channel Original movie, Amy Davidson
often marveled at how Betty White was game for almost anything. Especially during their midmovie
grandmother-granddaughter skinny-dipping scene! No, it's not what you're thinking. No
nudity was involved.
"We were not method acting," White jokes. "We had little strapless bathing suits on. I
mean, we can act like we're naked."
But it was a tough scene to shoot for other reasons. "It was about 2 o'clock in the
morning," White recalls. "And it was cold. They were supposed to have heated the pool and
somehow the heater didn't work. So we were doing our lines with our teeth chattering."
And all Davidson could think of that evening was the well-being of her 82-year-old
costar.
"It was so cold! It was freezing!," Davidson says. "I was scared to death for her. I'm
like, 'Get this woman out of the pool!' But the director was so great, because he did the scene
as fast as we could. Then we got Betty out and I did a couple other things to finish up. But
there was nothing that Betty wouldn't do, not one thing."
"Annie's Point" premieres on Hallmark Channel Saturday, January 22 (9/8c).
