[via press release from PAX]

THE TRUTH IS REVEALED ON PAX TVS NEW PRIMETIME SERIES LIE DETECTOR, PREMIERING TUESDAY, MARCH 8 AT 9:00 PM ET/PT

-Hosted By Veteran TV Journalist Rolonda Watts, Innovative Program Gives Accusers and The Accused The Chance To Tell The Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth By Undergoing Polygraph Test-

--Participants Seeking Vindication Include Clinton Accuser Paula Jones and Ben Rowling, Cousin Of The Best-Selling Author, Who Says He Is The Real Harry Potter--

(West Palm Beach, FL January 31, 2005) In some cases, they are the accused in other cases, they are the accusers. Both will be given a fair shake on PAX TVs new primetime series, Lie Detector, premiering Tuesday, March 8, 9:00 pm ET/PT. Hosted by TV journalist and talk show personality Rolonda Watts (Inside Edition, The Rolonda Show), this provocative and often surprising series examines the truth behind real-life stories ripped from the headlines, using the most powerful instrument to detect deception the polygraph.

Each hour-long episode will present three compelling cases with one common thread they are stories whose conclusions are unresolved for those who tell them. Especially intriguing is the saga of Paula Jones, whose sexual harassment suit against President Clinton was reignited during the Monica Lewinsky scandal; or the case of Robert Smitty, who wants to rebut headline-making charges that he profited from a kidney he donated through an Internet site; and then there is the fascinating tale of Ben Rowling, who insists he is the real Harry Potter, and that his famous cousin J.K. Rowling stole his childhood and profited from it.

After viewers get a firsthand look at each subject through news footage and taped interviews, Watts goes one-on-one with each participant for an in-depth and candid conversation, giving them an opportunity to tell their side of the story.

Finally, the moment of truth is revealed when the guest submits to a lie detector test administered by Dr. Ed Gelb, a leading polygraph expert in the field who has polygraphed such notables as John and Patsy Ramsey and former LAPD detective Mark Fuhrman, with the very real results all captured on camera! At the end of each segment, Watts reveals to our subjects whether they have been vindicated or branded a liar and gets their sometimes extreme reactions to the test results.

Lie Detector is a production of Mark Phillips Philms & Telephision and is executive produced by Mark Phillips, with Jon Crowley as the supervising producer and Rick Davis as the producer. Mark Phillips spent four years as senior supervising producer of the long-running series Real Stories of the Highway Patrol; developed and executive produced the re-launch of the TV Guide Network; was co-executive producer of the launch and first 65 episodes of USAs Friends and Lovers; and executive produced and wrote two one-hour episodes of the TLC series Undercover Stings. Phillips was nominated for a 1994 Cable Ace Award as producer of the A&E comedy special Movie Madness Mystery.

About Rolonda Watts
Watts began her career in television as a local news reporter in Greensboro, North Carolina, before moving on to various reporting stints, including WNBC-TV in New York as a reporter and local morning news anchor of the Today Show. There, she received an Emmy nomination for Live Spot News Coverage for her reports on a deadly train crash. She later moved to WABC-TV as an anchor, reporter, and moderator of Eyewitness News Conference, the station's weekly political forum. She left local news to try out her gift of gab nationally, hosting the Lifetime Television talk show Attitudes, where she received a Cable Ace nomination for Best Talk Show. Rolonda then tackled the news magazine scene as senior correspondent, weekend anchor, and producer for Inside Edition, before hosting her own internationally-syndicated talk show, The Rolonda Show (King World/Watts Works) that ran for four years. Next, Rolonda decided to pursue her long-time dream of acting, landing roles in various television series, including Yes Dear, Boston Public, The West Wing, The District, My Wife and Kids, JAG, and the upcoming feature film, Shackles, starring comedian DL Hughley.
