PAX TV LIGHTS UP A SECOND SEASON OF COLD TURKEY BEGINNING TUESDAY, MARCH 15 AT 10 PM ET/PT
--Network Also Reunites the First Seasons Cast in the Cold Turkey Reunion Special
Airing Tuesday, March 8 at 10 PM ET/PT--
(West Palm Beach, FL February 2, 2005) Last year, PAX TV asked ten unsuspecting smokers to quit the habit in front of television viewers across the country. Cold Turkey was born and set a new benchmark in television by addressing this complicated health issue that affects millions of Americans, in a compelling reality format.
On Tuesday, March 15 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, PAX TV will premiere Cold Turkey II, the second installment of this unconventional series, hosted once again by A.J. Benza (E! Entertainments Mysteries & Scandals). The weekly one-hour series, which begins with a new surprise twist that artfully lures ten unsuspecting participants to a smoke-free San Diego mansion, will air regularly on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT and will repeat on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
But before viewers meet the new group of smokers chosen for this epic adventure, PAX will reunite all ten participants from season one for the Cold Turkey Reunion Special, airing one week prior to the series premiere on Tuesday, March 8 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The special will feature highlights of the series most memorable moments and will update viewers on how each of the participants is doing today. Viewers will find out what really happened during the three solitary weeks in the house and will hear touching stories about how the series has changed peoples lives.
The following week, Cold Turkey II premieres with ten new unsuspecting smokers who think they have joined the cast of the latest adventure reality show called Pushing the Limits. After the participants are dropped in the middle of the Grand Canyon, decoy host Jordan Murphy (NBCs For Love or Money) convinces them that what they are about to experience is the real thing but the cast soon discovers the host is bogus; the challenges are fake; and the eliminations are phony. Two undercover actors playing non-smokers are embedded among them to keep suspicions at bay as the smokers compete in physical challenges that secretly test their lungs. Three days later, when host Benza arrives, everything changes, and the smokers must decide whether they want to lose their cigarettes and transform their lives forever.
Cold Turkey II is produced by Visual Frontier, Inc. in association with Krasnow Productions. Stuart Krasnow, who created Average Joe and Manhunt, and Kevin Williams (Average Joe, PBS Newtons Apple) are executive producers.
