The Force is With GSN
From Deep Within the GSN Archives Comes a 'What's My Line?' Featuring
James Earl Jones and a 'To Tell The Truth' With David Prowse, the Voice of and
Actor Behind the Original Darth Vader From the Legendary
'Star Wars' Feature Film Series
'Games Across America' Joins Fans at a Star Wars Convention in Indianapolis
SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 5 -- GSN pays homage to "Star
Wars," one of the greatest feature film series of all time by airing two
classic games shows featuring the voice of and actor behind the original Darth
Vader on Saturday, May 21. Additionally, the "Games Across America" series
visited a Star Wars Convention in Indianapolis and will air vignettes
throughout the primetime line-up May 21.
James Earl Jones, the voice of the original Darth Vader, was the mystery
guest on an episode of "What's My Line?" with host Wally Bruner and a panel
that included Alan Alda, Arlene Francis, Gail Sheldon and Soupy Sales. Taped
on November 25, 1970, this episode will air on May 21 (3:00-3:30 AM, ET/PT).
Shortly after the first installment of the infamous "Star Wars" series was
released in May of 1977, David Prowse (the actor who portrayed Darth Vader)
appeared on an episode of "To Tell The Truth," hosted by Joe Garagiola. That
episode will air on May 21 (3:30-4:00 AM, ET/PT).
The "Games Across America" interstitial series visited a Star Wars
Convention in Indianapolis and will weave interstitials around the primetime
line-up on May 21, making up about 20 minutes of coverage of fans celebrating
their beloved feature film series. Footage will include fans racing their
homemade droids and host Kurt Long learning techniques in light saber
fighting.
