PREMIERE DATE FOR NBC'S "THE LAW FIRM" -- THE NEW ALTERNATIVE DRAMA SERIES FROM EMMY-WINNING PRODUCER DAVID E. KELLEY AND FEATURING FAMED TRIAL ATTORNEY ROY BLACK -- MOVES TO JULY 28

Twelve Legal Eagles Compete for $250,000 Prize, Trying Real Court Cases With Outcomes That Are Legal and Binding

BURBANK -- May 18, 2005 -- NBC's eight-episode alternative drama series "The Law Firm," originally announced as premiering on Wednesday, July 27, is now slated to premiere one day later on Thursday, July 28 at 9 p.m. ET. Following that one-hour premiere on July 28, the seven subsequent episodes will air in that regular Thursday night 9:00 p.m. time slot.

The new unscripted series from Emmy Award winning producer David E. Kelley ("The Practice," "Ally McBeal," "L.A. Law") features real lawyers competing against each other while trying real court cases with real clients, in front of real judges and juries, resulting in outcomes that are final, legal and binding for the parties.

Premier trial attorney and legal analyst Roy Black is the managing partner of "The Law Firm," which is executive produced by Kelley, David Garfinkle ("Surreal Life," "Blind Date"), Jay Renfroe ("Surreal Life," "Blind Date"), Jonathan Pontell ("Ally McBeal," "Boston Public") and Robert Breech ("The Practice," "L.A. Law").

As managing partner, Black will decide which of the twelve "legal eagles" will be eliminated each week. Smart, strong-willed and fiercely competitive, the attorneys work together in different teams each week, battling tight deadlines, intense pressure and even each other as they strategize, prepare and try their cases.

The compelling cases range from First Amendment issues to neighbor disputes to wrongful death. Distinguished judges will decide some of the cases, while a jury determines the others. Each week, the stakes get higher -- not only in the competition among the lawyers but with the cases themselves. In the end, the top attorney will win a prize of $250,000.

"The Law Firm" is produced by Renegade 83, Inc. in association with David E. Kelley Productions and will be distributed by 20th Century Fox Television.
