BRANDON CALHOON IS THE SEVENTH PERFORMER ELIMINATED FROM THE COMPETITION ON "ROCK STAR: INXS"

Eight Contestants Remain In the Competition To Become The Lead Singer of the Band INXS

After falling into the bottom three in viewer votes and after a collective decision by the band, INXS, Brandon Calhoon from Hermosa Beach, Calif. (originally Beaverton, MI) was eliminated last night from the competition to become the new lead singer of INXS on ROCK STAR: INXS.

In a new element to the Tuesday performance show, voting began before the end of the broadcast and revealed the initial bottom three vote holders as Jessica Robbins, Brandon Calhoon and Deanna Johnston. Host Brooke Burke informed the audience and the performers that as the voting continued throughout the world, additional bottom vote holders also included Suzie McNeil and JD Fortune.

Ultimately, Brandon, a staffing recruiter, along with Jessica Robbins and Suzie McNeil, made up the three performers with the fewest viewer votes and had to perform an INXS song in front of a studio audience in a fight to stay in the competition. He performed "Don't Lose Your Head," while INXS members Jon Farriss and Garry Beers jammed along with the house band.

Brandon learned his fate from Tim Farriss, a member of the band, who said that "he just wasn't right for their band, INXS." He becomes the seventh singer eliminated from the competition, following Dana Robbins, Wil Seabrook, Neal Carlson, Heather Luttrell, Daphna Dove and Tara Slone.

The eight remaining performers will continue in the competition vying to become the new lead singer of INXS. ROCK STAR: INXS is broadcast on Tuesdays (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) and Wednesdays (9:00-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and Sundays (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT) on VH1. Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke are the hosts.
