CONTINUING CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE EFFORTS IN PROMOTING ABC PROGRAMMING, "ALIAS" PRINT AD ART IMITATES LIFE; "DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES" GETS "JUICY" PROMO

Continuing creative and innovative efforts in promoting new and returning series, ABC has unveiled a new "Alias" print ad that cleverly both hints at and hits head-on a very special event in the lives of Jennifer Garner and Sydney Bristow. The network has also recently launched a new "Desperate Housewives" promo, part of an overall campaign that plays off of the apple imagery in the show's main title sequence. The "Alias" ad is attached separately to view. Links to a downloadable version of the "Alias" ad and the "Desperate Housewives" promo are provided below (see end).

With real life imitating art, Jennifer Garner is pictured for ABC's new "Alias" print ad with a hand on her stomach and the tag line, "Expect More," playing off both her real life and fictitious pregnancies.

The "Desperate Housewives" "Juicy" promo was directed by Matthew Rolston, the world-renowned photographer and now director. This promo features over 1,100 Gala apples and some 5,000 square feet of real grass, and while Felicity Huffman is actually juggling, computer generated effects were used to exaggerate her juggling motion. The spot features the song "Juicy" by the group Better Than Ezra.

"Alias" will have its season premiere on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET). Jennifer Garner stars as Sydney Bristow, Victor Garber as Jack Bristow, Ron Rifkin as Arvin Sloane, Michael Vartan as Michael Vaughn, Carl Lumbly as Marcus Dixon, Kevin Weisman as Marshall Finkman, Balthazar Getty as Thomas Grace, Rachel Nichols as Rachel Gibson and Ilodie Bouchez as Renie Rienne.

"Alias was created by J.J.Abrams, who executive produces along with Ken Olin, Jeff Pinkner, Jesse Alexander and Jeffrey Bell. The series is produced by Touchstone Television.

"Desperate Housewives" will have its season premiere on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). The series stars Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van De Kamp, Eva Longoria as Gabrielle Solis, Nicollette Sheridan as Edie Britt, Alfre Woodard as Betty Applewhite, Brenda Strong as Mary Alice Young, James Denton as Mike Delfino, Doug Savant as Tom Scavo, Ricardo Antonio Chavira as Carlos Solis, Mark Moses as Paul Young, Richard Burgi as Karl Mayer, Roger Bart as George Williams, Cody Kasch as Zach Young, Andrea Bowen as Julie Mayer, Shawn Pyfrom as Andrew Van De Kamp, Joy Lauren as Danielle Van De Kamp, Mehcad Brooks as Matthew Applewhite, Jesse Metcalfe as John and Zane Huett as Parker Scavo.

Marc Cherry ("The Golden Girls") is executive producer and creator and Tom Spezialy ("The District," "Ed") is executive producer of the series, which is from Touchstone Television.
