"2005 AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS" ASKS THE PUBLIC TO CHOOSE THEIR FAVORITE ARTIST OF THE YEAR FOR THE SECOND ANNUAL T-MOBILE TEXT-IN AWARD

Fans Can Vote Via T-Mobile(r) Text Messaging or Through ABC's Site at ama.abc.com

The "2005 American Music Awards" is asking the public to cast their votes for the T-Mobile Text-In Award, which will determine the fans' favorite from a list of top artists from each of the six major musical genres. The award will be revealed during the live telecast of the special, which airs TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

Beginning October 19, 2005, T-Mobile USA subscribers can cast their vote for the T-Mobile Text-In Award. Fans can send a text message using their T-Mobile phone by sending the letter corresponding to their favorite artist ("A" for Mariah Carey, "B" for Kelly Clarkson, "C" for 50 Cent, "D" for Green Day, "E" for Toby Keith or "F" for Gwen Stefani) to short code 262 ("AMA"). Standard text messaging charges apply for text messaging an entry. In addition, votes can also be cast via the Internet at ABC's site at ama.abc.com, and viewers of the "2005 American Music Awards" can also vote during the show via Enhanced TV by logging on to ABC.com and clicking on the Enhanced TV logo. Voting via text message and on ABC.com is now open and will conclude at approximately 10:00 p.m., ET during the show on November 22.

"T-Mobile customers can once again have a voice in naming today's top musical artist by voting from their T-Mobile wireless device," said Mike Belcher, director, Sponsorships, T-Mobile USA, Inc. "This is a fitting opportunity for our customers, many of whom enjoy music and are setting the standard for 'what's hot' today."

The nominees reflect the artists whose current album has been the top seller in its genre from November 20, 2004 to September 3, 2005 in the United States. Those vying for the T-Mobile Text-In Award are:

* MARIAH CAREY (Soul/Rhythm & Blues) * KELLY CLARKSON (Adult Contemporary) * 50 CENT (Rap/Hip Hop) * GREEN DAY (Rock) * TOBY KEITH (Country) * GWEN STEFANI (Pop)
