NEW YORK, Oct. 20 -- Armchair quarterbacks unite! For every
sports fan that has yelled "My grandmother could have made that catch!!!" or

"This series will answer the age-old question every guy is thinking -- if
I got the chance -- could I prove I'm a better athlete than an NFL Hall of
Famer like Jerry Rice, and NBA Hall of Famer like 'The Mailman,' or even one
of the world's best female soccer players," noted Sharon Levy, Senior Vice
President, Alternative Programming, Spike TV.
Joe Townley, President of Clear Channel Entertainment Television adds, "We
are making dreams come true for a few lucky sports fans and providing
entertaining programming at the same time. I don't believe there are any avid
sports fans out there who haven't dreamt of an opportunity like this or
wouldn't want to see the drama and thrill of it as it happens to an average
"Joe" much like them."
HOW THE SHOW WORKS
* "Pros vs. Joes" will feature regular guys who will compete against each
other for a shot at winning season tickets to their favorite team. The
only thing standing in their way is a team of superstar athletes from
different athletic backgrounds.
* Each week, three Joes will go up against a super star team of five Pros.
The Joes and Pros will be put through different challenges that will
test their athletic skills, physical stamina and brute strength. Pros
will be challenged not only in their own sports, but will compete in
sports in which they have limited experience.
* Viewers will be given an exclusive, inside look at the conversations and
antics that happen in the Pro locker room as they plot the demise of the
Joes. The finale will culminate with the best performing Pros pitted
against the favorite Joes who will compete for the ultimate sports
fantasy prize package.
