VIBE magazine and UPN today announced that Mariah Carey was the big winner with four awards at Saturday night�s taping of the third annual VIBE AWARDS ON UPN, hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross (UPN's GIRLFRIENDS) and Anthony Anderson ("Hustle & Flow").
Other major winners include Kanye West, Ciara, R. Kelly, The Game, Kimora Lee Simmons, Keyshia Cole, Young Jeezy, T.I., Kevin Liles, Amerie, Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, and The Diplomats. The VIBE AWARDS ON UPN, a two-hour special event dedicated to celebrating excellence, innovation, cutting-edge presentation and genre-expanding work in urban music, will be broadcast Tuesday, Nov. 15 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on UPN.
Some of the evening's highlights include Ciara's surprising entrance to her opening performance of "Oh"; Young Jeezy and Akon's snowy rendition of "Soul Survivor"; Pharrell's arrangement of "Can I Have It Like That" amid extreme skateboarders; and music legend Quincy Jones presentation of this year�s VLegend Award for lifetime achievement to Queen of R&B and Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige, who gave a moving acceptance speech.

Nominations for the third annual VIBE AWARDS ON UPN were determined by the VIBE editorial staff, headed by Editor-in-Chief Mimi Vald�s. Winners in each category will be decided by votes from music journalists and regional tastemakers. To be eligible for nomination, recorded material must have been released between October 2004 and September 2005.
The third annual VIBE AWARDS ON UPN is a production of VIBE magazine, Flavor Unit Television Entertainment, and White Cherry Entertainment. For VIBE, Kenard Gibbs and Mimi Vald�s are executive producers. Shakim Compere and Queen Latifah are executive producers for Flavor Unit, and Dedra Tate is supervising producer. Emmy Award winners Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry are executive producers. Audrey LaCatis serves as the show�s talent executive. The special will be directed by Glenn Weiss.
