2005 Holiday Season Highlights

TBS THEATRICAL MOVIES

THE WIZARD OF OZ (New Digital Transfer) � Friday, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 12, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 13, at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.

TBS will give viewers an early holiday present when the network presents the first-ever telecast of the beautifully restored edition of THE WIZARD OF OZ. This digitally remastered version of the perennial classic will feature the highest-quality video resolution available when it premieres during a special weekend of telecasts. In addition to digitally cleaning up and fine-tuning the movie�s picture to the highest quality possible, Warner Bros. Home Video has remastered the soundtrack, which is now available in 5.1 surround sound.

HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS � Saturday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Seuss� memorable holiday tale comes to life in this animated classic featuring the voices of Boris Karloff and Thurl Ravenscroft. The story follows a grouch�s attempts to destroy Christmas for the inhabitants of Whoville. It�s a holiday treat for the entire family.

TBS SPECIAL EVENTS

EARTH TO AMERICA! � Sunday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m.

This star-studded comedy spectacular will feature stand-up comedy, videotaped vignettes and comedy sketches with such well-known celebrities and comedians as Jack Black, Cedric �The Entertainer,� Stephen Colbert, Rob Corddry, Larry David, Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Ferrell, Al Franken, Christopher Guest, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Steve Martin, Sen. John McCain, Tim McGraw, Kevin Nealon, Ray Romano, Martin Short, Ben Stiller, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and Robin Williams. Country music superstar Tim McGraw will also perform. The show will be taped at The Comedy Festival at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on Nov. 17. EARTH TO AMERICA! comes to TBS from The Comedy Festival and creator Laurie David, who also serves as an executive producer with Pat Tourk Lee, John Moffitt and Bob Crestani. The special�s all-star writing team includes Eli Attie (The West Wing); Scott Carter (Real Time with Bill Maher); Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm); Scott Jacobson, Jason Reich and Steve Bodow (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart); Chris Kelly (Real Time with Bill Maher); Adam McKay (Anchorman); George Meyer (The Simpsons); Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam); Phil Rosenthal (Everybody Loves Raymond); and White (School of Rock). In addition to the comedy and musical entertainment, EARTH TO AMERICA! will honor environmental heroes, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Also on hand will be Senator John McCain. EARTH TO AMERICA! began as Earth to LA! and quickly grew to its present form. Last year, it raised $3 million for the Natural Resources Defense Council.

THANKSGIVING WITH RAYMOND � Thursday, Nov. 24, 1-8 p.m.

TBS invites everyone to join the Barone family for an all-day marathon of memorable EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND episodes, starring Ray Romano, Patricia Heaton, Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle.

DAISY DOES AMERICA � Original Series Premieres Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 10 p.m.

British comedian Daisy Donovan (Daisy Daisy, Millions, The 11 O�Clock Show) is heading across the pond to America for TBS�s DAISY DOES AMERICA, a unique new comedy series executive-produced by Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette and their production company Coquette Productions. This fast-paced, irreverent look at some of America�s most extreme characters and lifestyles is sure to make you laugh as Daisy pokes fun at herself and the characters she comes across.

TBS SPECIAL EVENTS

HAPPY FESTIVUS � Thursday, Dec. 22, 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

TBS celebrates Festivus (�for the rest of us�) with a Seinfeld marathon, including the classic Festivus episode (�The Strike�), in which George�s father explains the origins of the holiday he created.

24 Hours of A CHRISTMAS STORY � Saturday, Dec. 24, beginning at 8 p.m.

TBS celebrates the holiday with an all-day marathon of one of the most enduring Christmas classics of all time. Peter Billingsley stars as young Ralphie, whose desire for a Red Ryder BB gun leads to hilarious complications. Melinda Dillon and Darren McGavin play his parents in this nostalgic comedy based on the writings of Jean Shepherd, who also narrates.

FUNNIEST COMMERCIALS OF THE YEAR: 2005 � Wednesday, Dec. 28 at 8 p.m.

This hour-long program will showcase the cleverest and most humorous commercials from around the world. The show will feature 50 spots, 10 of which will be voted on by the public in advance to determine which commercials they think deserve the title of �Funniest Commercial of the Year.� FUNNIEST COMMERCIALS OF THE YEAR: 2005 will also spotlight a handful of the most amusing and memorable commercials from years past.

LAUGH IN THE NEW YEAR � Friday, Dec. 31-Saturday, Jan. 1 at 8 p.m.

TBS kicks off the New Year with a two-day marathon of hilarious movie comedies guaranteed to keep the laughs coming, the champagne bubbling and the party going. Movies populating the New Year�s bash include The Birdcage, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Tommy Boy, Orange County and See Spot Run.

TBS THEATRICAL MOVIES

MR. DEEDS (Network Television Premiere) � Friday, Dec. 2; Saturday, Dec. 3; and Sunday, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m.

Adam Sandler stars in this remake of the Frank Capra classic Mr. Deeds Goes to Town about a small-town guy brought to the big city, only to be taken advantage of. Winona Ryder and Peter Gallagher co-star.

For the first time, TBS joins sister network TNT in a simulcast of this captivating, live event. One of the industry�s most respected award presentations, THE SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS is telecast live from the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles. The prestigious industry event honors performances in five film categories and eight television categories, including the unique Ensemble Award.
