SCI FI CHANNEL ELEVATES ITS PROGRAMMING TEAM

Nora O'Brien Upped to VP of Original Programming

Pasadena, CA - January 12, 2006 - SCI FI Channel, which closed 2005 basking in the glow of the unprecedented success of its original programming lineup, has promoted Nora O'Brien to Vice President of Original Programming. The announcement was made today by Mark Stern, EVP of Original Programming, to whom she will continue to report.

"Nora and I have worked together in different capacities for nearly a decade," stated Stern. "Her strong background in production, paired with her superb taste in material has made her an invaluable part of our team. It's with pleasure that we elevate her to this new position, and I look forward to seeing her continuing growth in the future."

O'Brien has served as Director of Original Scripted Programming at SCI FI Channel since May 2003. She began her career working in both production and post production capacities on feature films including School Ties, Sliver, Clear and Present Danger, Outbreak and Starship Troopers. In 1997, she made the jump to television, working for five years as the Vice President of Television at Trilogy Entertainment Group, overseeing both current programming and development on such series as The Outer Limits, Poltergeist: The Legacy and Breaking News.

In her new role, O'Brien will develop both series and longform projects for SCI FI. She will also serve as SCI FI's development executive on the recently announced original series Warehouse 13 from Ronald D. Moore and NBC Universal Television Studio, and continue to work on Stargate SG-1. As SCI FI's current executive on SG-1, O'Brien helped turn the series into one of the Channel's greatest success stories. Recently renewed for a tenth original season, SG-1 - delivering its best-ever ratings - has surpassed The X-Files as the longest-running sci-fi drama in US television history.

SCI FI Channel is a television network where "what if" is what's on. SCI FI fuels the imagination of viewers with original series and events, blockbuster movies and classic science fiction and fantasy programming, as well as a dynamic Web site (www.scifi.com ) and magazine. Launched in 1992, and currently in 85 million homes, SCI FI Channel is a network of NBC Universal, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies.
