NBC'S HIT DRAMA SERIES "CROSSING JORDAN" LAUNCHES NEW INTERACTIVE WEB SITE ON MARCH 12
Nigel's Popular Web Blog Returns and Allows Viewers to Play Cupid
BURBANK, Calif. -- February 28, 2006 -- With the success of last year's interactive web blog allowing viewers to use their investigative skills to solve a "cold case," NBC.com will launch a new web site filled with webcasts, viewer polls and Nigel's latest blogs. In the weeks leading up to the season finale on May 7, viewers can join Nigel in his quest to play Cupid in the love triangle that has developed this season between Lily (Kathryn Hahn), Bug (Ravi Kapoor) and Lily's love interest Assistant District Attorney Jeffrey Brandau (Ethan Sandler), who is played by the real-life husband of Kathryn Hahn.
For its second year, the web site-www.nigelblog.com-will post live immediately after the gripping episode "Death Toll" airs on Sunday, March 12. Viewers will find a message from criminalist Nigel Townsend (Steve Valentine) reintroducing his blog and providing fans with the opportunity to help Lily determine who is the best man for her.
From March 12 until the end of the season, there will be a webcast airing special scenes produced exclusively for the Web, a text post offering Nigel's colorful commentary or an interactive way for viewers to give their opinions about what is occurring between these three characters.
On March 19 after the airing of "Blame Game," Nigel will suggest to Bug that he try Internet dating in this first installment of webcasts. Viewers will then have the opportunity to submit an online dating profile for Bug, and the best profile will be posted on Nigel's blog.
Over the next three weeks, Nigel will continue to play matchmaker and share more of his observations after the airings of "Someone to Watch Over Me" on March 26, "Save Me" on April 2, and "The Iceman Cometh" (wt) on April 9.
On April 16 after "Mysterious Ways" airs, viewers will be able to watch the second webcast for online viewers only and will be introduced to a new love triangle involving Lily, Bug and a woman who has piqued his interest. After receiving a surprise engagement proposal, fans will also be able to vote on which wedding dress Lily should wear when walking down the aisle.
The following week viewers can tune in to "Mace vs. Scalpel" on April 30 and then log on to Nigel's blog, where they can continue to watch events unfold outside of the show. In addition, fans will be able to vote on which man Lily should choose-Bug or Brandau.
With the season finale "It Had to Be You" on May 7, the final webcast will answer looming questions. Will Lily walk down the aisle and marry Brandau? Will Bug find happiness with his new lady love? Or will Lily finally catch the love "Bug"?...Just ask Nigel.
"Crossing Jordan" is from Tailwind Productions in association with NBC Universal Television Studio. Tim Kring (NBC's "Providence") is creator and executive producer; Dennis Hammer and Allan Arkush are executive producers.
