SCI FI.COM LAUNCHES EXCLUSIVE WORLD PREMIERE OF 'KING KONG'S SKULL ISLAND' MARCH 18, 2006
NEW YORK -- March 17, 2006 -- In celebration of the upcoming DVD release of 'King Kong' on March 28, SCIFI.com will host the world premiere of 'King Kong's Skull Island,' a fascinating look at the unforgettable setting of three-time Academy Award winner Peter Jackson's global blockbuster, on March 18. In addition, SCI FI Channel will broadcast the featurette beginning March 21, making the Web site and the cable network the only places audiences can experience this intriguing behind-the-scenes look at 'King Kong' before the release of the two-disc special edition DVD.
'King Kong's Skull Island' reveals the mythology of the mysterious, fog-shrouded isle that serves as the central backdrop of the film, which recently earned three Oscars including Best Visual Effects. Viewers can travel to the set of the treacherous Skull Island to learn about its shadowy origins, murderous inhabitants and exotic and deadly creatures.
Following the March 18 premiere on SCIFI.com, SCI FI Channel viewers will have several opportunities to see 'King Kong's Skull Island' between March 21 and March 26. After that, the 17-minute documentary featurette will be available only on Universal Studios Home Entertainment's two-disc special edition 'King Kong' DVD.
