NBC HEATS UP NEW INTERNATIONAL HIT GAME SHOW 1 VERSUS 100 FROM ENDEMOL USA, THE PRODUCERS OF NBCS SMASH HIT DEAL OR NO DEAL

BURBANK, Calif. -- April 26, 2006 -- Hot on the heels of NBC and Endemol USA's hit game show "Deal or No Deal," NBC announced today it's bringing the latest international game show phenomenon to American audiences -- "1 Versus 100." The announcement was made by Craig Plestis, Senior Vice President, Alternative Programming and Development, NBC Entertainment.

"We've heard hundreds of pitches on game shows since 'Deal or No Deal' became a hit, but this was truly the first one that knocked my socks off," said Plestis. "Knowing this is the same team that made 'Deal' clinched the deal for us."

"It's no secret that Endemol has been credited for the resurgence of the game show genre based on our success with 'Deal or No Deal'," said David Goldberg, President of Endemol USA. "Our company has no shortage of existing and new game show formats and '1 Versus 100' was the perfect fit for NBC. The show has an event feel, is easy to understand, has great tension and conflict and will have the largest cash prize of a serialized show to date."

In "1 Versus 100," one player must outlast a mob of 100 people in a tense battle of brains and greed for a chance to win a multi-million dollar cash prize. To stay in the game, the player must answer trivia questions and get every one right -- wrong answers from the mob eliminates them from the game, driving up the cash prize for the player. If the player can eliminate all 100 members of the mob, they'll go home with the top prize.

From Endemol USA, "1 Versus 100" is an international hit in Sweden, Belgium, Holland (where it originated), Germany, Argentina and Portugal and was recently sold to BBC in the United Kingdom to air in primetime.

The series is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA. The series is executive-produced by Scott St. John.

Endemol USA is a leading producer of television programming specializing in reality and non-scripted genres for network and cable television. The company produces the break-out hits, "Deal or No Deal," "Fear Factor," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" and "Big Brother." Endemol USA is a division of Endemol Holding, a prominent international content developer, producer and distributor of television and online programming. The company, headquartered in the Netherlands, has subsidiaries and joint ventures in 21 countries, including the major European markets, the U.S., South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Australia. Endemol Entertainment is a fully owned subsidiary of telecommunications giant Telefnica S.A., one of the largest companies in Spain.
