GRAMMY AWARD-WINNING SINGER AND ACTOR ANTHONY ANDERSON GUEST STAR ON NBC'S 'LAW & ORDER: SVU' ON TUESDAY, MAY 2ND AT 10 PM ET/PT
Episode Tackles the Tragic Consequences of Childhood Obesity
NEW YORK -- April 27, 2006 -- Grammy Award-wining singer Natalie Cole and 'Hustle & Flow's' Anthony Anderson guest-star on NBC's 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,' episode 'Fat' (Tuesday, May 2nd at 10 PM ET/PT). Cole makes her first guest star appearance on SVU as Attorney Serena Waldron, counsel for the defense. This powerful episode deals with childhood obesity, a 'hotbed' issue in the media.
In 'Fat,' a band of teenage siblings attack and sodomize a teenage girl, Jessica Delay (guest star Tricia Mara), who is a gifted piano student at a prestigious high school in Harlem. Through the work of medical examiner Warner (Tamara Tunie) who identifies the attackers as overweight, Detective Stabler (Chris Meloni) and his one-time partner Det. Lucius Blaine, guest star Anthony Anderson ('Hustle & Flow,' 'Scary Movie 4') track down the siblings, who claim they attacked Jessica to avenge an attack on their morbidly obese brother Rudi (Omar Benson Miller). The trial's conclusion brings a hollow victory for the winner due to the enormous health issues facing the teenager.
Anderson is best known for his recent role in the critically acclaimed film 'Hustle and Flow' and can be seen in the comedy/horror film 'Scary Movie 4'.
"Law & Order: SVU" is produced by Wolf Films in association with NBC Universal Television Studio.
