Lifetime Dismisses 'Missing' Drama After Three Seasons

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Lifetime has opted to part ways with "Missing," its sole remaining scripted veteran, the network confirmed on Friday.

The news comes in spite of an average 1.9 household rating for its third season, up from its season two average (1.7 household rating) and just shy of its freshman run (2.0 household rating).

Nevertheless, in a statement to the press, Lifetime indicated the series had "run its course" but were "very honored to have been associated with the program and the very talented cast and crew."

The network hopes to fill the void left by "Missing" with new scripted entries "Lovespring International" (due next month) and "Angela's Eyes" (set for July).

Vivica A. Fox, Mark Consuelos and Caterina Scorsone starred in the series, which came from Lionsgate Television and executive producer Debra Martin Chase.
