Ken Fuchs Named Director; Jeff Hall Designed Set
Talk/Variety Show Will Be Based in Hollywood; Sold in More Than 92% of U.S. for Sept. 18th Debut
UNIVERSAL CITY, CA�June 12, 2006- NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution has assembled the majority of its production staff on "The Megan Mullally Show," including naming Ken Fuchs as director, it was announced today by Barry Wallach, President, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.
Fuchs, who most recently served as director on "The Bachelor," will work alongside Executive Producer Corin Nelson, the former show-runner at "The Rosie O'Donnell Show, on Mullally's upcoming talk/variety show, which will originate from Los Angeles.
Jeff Hall, whose company Jeff Hall Design has overseen production sets on everything from "Last Comic Standing" to "America's Top Model," has designed the show's set.
"The Megan Mullally Show," which is now sold in more than 92% of the U.S. and in all top 20 U.S. markets, will make its debut in national syndication on Monday September 18, 2006. Markets not previously announced include KOIN-TV Portland, KSTU-TV Salt Lake City and WSTM-TV Syracuse.
It was previously announced that "The Megan Mullally Show" has been sold to the NBC Universal Owned and Operated stations including New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, as well as to local broadcast stations from Hearst-Argyle, Gannett, Belo, Viacom, Fox, Raycom and others.
"We have assembled a very talented production team led by Corin Nelson and a strong local station lineup that promises to give Megan a great platform to showcase her myriad talents this fall," says Wallach.
Nelson stated, "Ken is an incredibly versatile director who's done everything from primetime and syndicated talk to reality, late night and game shows. For a talk/variety show like ours with so many different elements, he's the perfect match." She added, "Jeff's a very talented designer with incredible vision."
Fuchs has directed the last nine seasons of "The Bachelor," as well as "The Bachelorette," "The Bachelor�After The Final Rose" and "The Wedding: Trista and Ryan." He is a veteran of primetime, cable and syndicated television, having directed "Big Man on Campus" and "Superstar USA," "Later with Greg Kinnear," "Bands Reunited," as well as "Family Feud," and "Power of Attorney" in national syndication.
Hall has overseen the production designs for dozens of primetime, cable and syndicated programs, including two series on NBC this summer, "Last Comic Standing IV" and "Treasure Hunters." His other credits include "Project Runway," "America's Top Model" and "Extreme Makeover: Wedding Edition."
"The Megan Mullally Show" will be an entertaining hour featuring a mix of celebrities, real people, music and comedy. Mullally will interview top celebrities and also introduce the world to guests of all kinds�from quirky characters to funny kids to off-beat experts. Led by a host who is warm, witty and relatable, "The Megan Mullally Show" will bring the best of classic and current talk-variety television to the daytime audience this fall.
