JESSICA SIMPSON TO CO-HOST "TEEN CHOICE 2006" LIVE SUNDAY, AUGUST 20, ON FOX
America's sweetheart Jessica Simpson will co-host TEEN CHOICE 2006, airing live Sunday, Aug. 20 (8:00-10:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape-Delayed) on FOX following an advance look at the glitz and glamour of the event during a hot red carpet special Sunday, Aug. 20 (7:30-8:00 PM ET Live/PT Tape-Delayed). Her hosting partner for the show will be announced at a later date.
Simpson has conquered the genres of music, fashion, beauty, television and film. "A Public Affair," her follow-up to the four-times platinum success of "In This Skin," debuts Aug. 29. In 2005, Simpson made her film debut as "Daisy Duke" in "The Dukes of Hazzard." Her next film project, "Employee of the Month," premieres Sept. 15. At TEEN CHOICE 2006, Simpson is nominated for Choice Movie Breakout Performance for her role in "The Dukes of Hazzard," Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon and Choice Hottie.
Simpson will preside as co-host over the eighth annual special, where the coolest stars will receive coveted Teen Choice surfboard awards in categories such as Choice Breakout TV Show, Choice Sleazebag, Choice Hissy Fit, Choice Rumble, Choice TV Actress, Choice Rock Track, Choice Grill, Choice Athlete and Choice TV Sidekick. From now until Thursday, Aug. 11, voters can log on to Teenpeople.com, MySpace.com, IGN.com and FOX.com to cast their ballots for the hottest celebrities in film, television, music, sports and fashion.
TEEN CHOICE 2006 is executive-produced by Bob Bain ("Kids Choice Awards") and Mike Burg. Paul Flattery serves as producer. Greg Sills serves as supervising producer.
