LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Two of this summer's cable newcomers got some good news this week as both USA's "Psych" and A&E's "Driving Force" received orders for additional episodes.
"Force," which bowed just three weeks ago, has been extended from 10 to 14 episodes. The show's July 10 premiere drew 1.8 million viewers, the second most-watched launch of any reality series on the network, behind only "Dog the Bounty Hunter" in 2004.
As for "Psych," USA has tacked on three additional hours to its original 12-episode commitment. The news comes as little surprise considering its 3.9 million viewer average thus far, nearly identical to its lead-in "Monk's" 4.0 million. "Psych" wraps the first half of its inaugural run on August 25 with the second half due in January.
