Cartoon Network Earns Double-Digit Prime Time, Total Day Gains Among Kids 6-11

August 22, 2006

Cartoon Network charted strong prime time and total day ratings and delivery gains among all targeted kid demos last week vs. the same 2005 time period, including impressive double-digit growth among kids 6-11, according to preliminary data from Nielsen Media Research. Weeknight and weekend prime time programming proved particularly powerful as original comedy series The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (M-Th, 8 p.m.), Ed, Edd n Eddy (M-Th, 8:30 p.m.), and Camp Lazlo (M-Th, 9 p.m.), and action-adventure acquisitions Pokmon Chronicles (Sat, 7-8 p.m.), Naruto (Sat, 8:30-9:30 p.m.) and Xiaolin Showdown (M-Th, 9:30 p.m.) each earned across-the-board increases among the networks kids and tweens audiences.

Additionally, the networks summer-long strategy of presenting brand new episodes of its original series every Monday-Saturday night at 7 p.m. has scored powerful growth among all kids demos vs. the same week last year.

Highlights of Cartoon Networks performance vs. the same 2005 time period include the following:
