NEW YORK, August 23, 2006 "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" travels to the heart of America's most hotly contested swing state to cover the Midterm elections. "Battlefield Ohio: 'The Daily Show's' Midwest Midterm Midtacular" will be taped at the Roy Bowen Theatre at the Ohio State University and will air nightly at 11:00 p.m. from Monday, October 30 through Thursday, November 2. Host Jon Stewart will be joined by his team of awardseeking commentators and correspondents as they seek to answer the ageold question: Just what the hell is a buckeye?

This marks the fifth time the series has made a road tripPhiladelphia and Los Angeles (2000) Washington, D.C. (2002) and Boston (2004) and continues its criticallyacclaimed and award-winning "Indecision" coverage. The series first earned its political stripes during the nowinfamous 2000 election, receiving an Emmy Award and a prestigious George Foster Peabody Award for its yearlong "Indecision 2000" coverage of the race for the White House, feats repeated during the series' "Indecision 2004" election reporting.

In addition, the series will air a halfhour election night special live from COMEDY CENTRAL's World News Headquarters in New York City featuring uptotheminute results of the day's races from across the country. "Midwest Midterm Midtacular" election coverage episodes will feature instudio interviews and surprise guest appearances by toplevel politicians and newsmakers. Also, "The Daily Show" correspondents Dan Bakkedahl, Samantha Bee, Jason Jones and John Oliver will provide political commentary from various locations in and around Ohio to give viewers a unique perspective that only a true outsider can provide. For tickets to any of the four broadcasts at Ohio State University, viewers can send requests to osutickets@thedailyshow.com. .

Politicians who have appeared on "The Daily Show" include Former President Bill Clinton, Former President Jimmy Carter, Former Vice President Al Gore, Senator John McCain, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Senator Joseph Lieberman, Senator John Kerry, Senator Joe Biden, Senator Bob Kerrey, Senator Charles Schumer, Senator Norm Coleman, Senator Arlen Specter, Senator Barack Obama, Senator Ted Kennedy, Senator Trent Lott, Senator Rick Santorum, Senator Russ Feingold, Senator Barbara Boxer, Representative Dick Gephardt, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Senator John Edwards, who announced his intention to run for the 2004 Democratic nomination during an appearance on "The Daily Show" on September 15, 2003.

The Emmy and Peabody Awardwinning "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" was launched in the summer of 1996. The nightly news satire takes a reality-based look at news, trends, pop culture, current events, politics, sports, entertainment and the media. In each show, Stewart and a team of correspondents, including Dan Bakkedahl, Samantha Bee, Jason Jones and John Oliver, comment on the day's stories employing actual news footage, taped field pieces, instudio guests and onthespot coverage of important news events.
