For Program And Writing For Nine Emmy Total

NEW YORK, August 28, 2006�COMEDY CENTRAL earned two awards in the 2005�2006 Primetime Emmy Awards competition, it was announced last night by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS).

Seven�time Emmy�winner (three times for program, four times for writing) "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," the network's unique news parody series, won two more Emmys, bringing its overall Emmy total to nine: The fourth year in a row for Outstanding Variety, Music Or Comedy Series and the fifth overall win for Outstanding Writing For A Music Or Comedy Program.

The Emmy Awards were presented during two ceremonies. The first, primarily for creative arts categories, took place on Saturday, August 19. The balance of the Emmys, primarily for the performing arts, were announced before a black�tie audience during a primetime telecast (NBC) on Sunday, August 27. Both ceremonies took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA.
