LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Barely 30 days into its existence, The CW has announced its first cancellation: its sole new drama "Runaway."
The netlet is expected to fill the Sunday, 9:00/8:00c hour with various repeat programming effective immediately.
Updated (2:41 PM PST): The CW has confirmed that effective this week repeats of "America's Next Top Model" will shift to the 9:00/8:00c slot while various drama repeats will fill the 7:00/6:00c hour ("Smallville" on October 22, "Supernatural" on October 29).
A paltry 1.79 million viewers tuned into the show's latest broadcast on Sunday, making it the least-watched program on the broadcast networks last week.
Production has been completed on six episodes of "Runaway," meaning at least three installments will sit on the shelf.
Sony Pictures Television was behind the hour, which was executive produced by Ed Zuckerman, Darren Star and creator Chad Hodge.
