THOUSANDS TOOK A STAB, BUT ONLY 14-YEAR-OLD INNEY PRAKASH IS CUT OUT TO BE THE WINNER OF "THE SIMPSONS" "TREEHOUSE OF HORROR XVII: SLICE-DICE-AND-WIN" CONTEST

Inney Prakash of Farmington Hills, MI, has been selected as the grand prize winner of the first-ever SIMPSONS "Treehouse Of Horror XVII: Slice-Dice-and-Win" contest.

"My mom told me about the contest, and when I entered I never expected I would win," said Prakash. "I love THE SIMPSONS, it's my favorite show."

Fourteen-year-old Prakash's prize-winning promo spot will make its broadcast debut in the 7:30 PM ET/PT half-hour during THE SIMPSONS "Treehouse Of Horror XVI" episode Sunday, Nov. 5 on FOX, which will be followed by the all-new Halloween trilogy "Treehouse Of Horror XVII" (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT).

Prakash will also be awarded a trip for two to THE SIMPSONS' historic 400th episode party in Los Angeles in May 2007.

Prakash was among more than 5,000 entrants who sliced and diced their way to creating unique promo spots combining "Treehouse Of Horror XVII" video clips, sounds and music cues.

Now through Sunday, Nov. 5, fans can continue to customize their own SIMPSONS promos in the second phase of the contest, using the unique web-based editing tool found on THE SIMPSONS micro-site: www.thesimpsons.com/treehouse. In this phase of the contest, one winner will receive a "Treehouse Of Horror XVII" giclee signed by SIMPSONS creator and executive producer Matt Groening. Additionally, 20 contestants will each win a framed limited-run "Treehouse of Horror XVII" poster, and another 100 entrants will be randomly selected to receive special SIMPSONS mini-posters.

Fans also can simply cut their own promos for fun and send their creations to friends via e-mail. Promos will be displayed and rotated daily on the micro-site, where visitors can view and rank their favorite spots and send them to fellow SIMPSONS fans. Users can also access the contest at the official SIMPSONS MySpace profile (www.myspace.com/thesimpsons), where they can see a sneak preview of the "Treehouse Of Horror XVII" episode.

THE SIMPSONS is a Gracie Films production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean are the executive producers. Film Roman is the animation house.
