WE tv Attracts Advertisers Targeting Women During Fall 2007 Fashion Week
Saturn and Maybelline New York Sign On for Under the Tents - Fall 2007 Fashion Week
New York, NY - January 22, 2007 - WE tv, the only cable network dedicated to helping women connect to one another and the world around them, announced today that General Motors' Saturn division and Maybelline New York will advertise during its original series, Under the Tents. The show provides an inside look at the season's hottest fashion trends from the designer collections that are unveiled during Fashion Week twice a year in NYC in September and February. Targeting women, both advertisers will receive on-air and online exposure in first quarter of 2007. Fashion programming is a popular category for advertisers on WE tv where past sponsors have included L'Oreal Paris and Payless ShoeSource for Style Me With Rachel Hunter and Twentieth Century Fox for Unwrapping Macys.
"WE tv's originals are creating opportunities with advertisers looking to reach a core audience of women," said Arlene Manos, President of Rainbow national network advertising sales. "Because women are the key decision-makers in the home, WE tv is a destination for so many different categories of advertisers looking to reach them throughout the year. Welcoming back these two advertisers reinforces the network's value of providing ad sales packages that benefit advertisers looking to reach a wide ranging audience of women, while maximizing its slate of original series."
GM's Saturn division has signed on to showcase vehicles like the Sky roadster, Aura midsize sedan and Outlook crossover utility. Saturn will be integrated during the "Profile of an Emerging Designer" segment where viewers will be introduced to an up-and-coming artist from the fashion scene. Other tactics include promotional tagged tune-ins, billboards and online presence including logo, link and banner advertisement at WE.tv as well as inclusion into the monthly e-newsletter set to all of WE tv's registered users. GM first signed on with WE tv for Cinematherapy: Road Test in 2004.
This is the second year that Maybelline New York is sponsoring Under the Tents. This year they will receive two custom vignettes that will feature the hottest make-up beauty trends of the season with the use of Maybelline's new eye and lip products. The vignettes will run online and air during the promotional window surrounding the special. Additional elements include on-air presence through promotional tune-in spots and billboards and online presence includes their logos, web links and banner advertisement at WE.tv. Maybelline New York is also a current sponsor for WE tv's new original series Dirty Dancing.
Under the Tents first premiered on WE tv in February of 2005. Past sponsors have included Wal-Mart and John Frieda.
Original programming has garnered record ratings success for WE tv in 2006. 2006 is the best year in the history of the network for HH ratings (.27) as well as HH delivery (158K).
