FX Sets Premiere Date for New Series THE RICHES

Drama Starring Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver Debuts Monday, March 12 at 10 PM ET/PT

Premiere Episode Sponsored With Limited Commercial Interruption by The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films Upcoming Feature Film Grindhouse

LOS ANGELES, January 25, 2007 FXs new drama series The Riches, starring Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver, premieres on Monday, March 12 at 10 PM ET/PT, and the network will televise the debut episode with limited commercial interruption sponsored by The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films upcoming film, Grindhouse. FX will air 13 episodes of The Riches on Mondays at 10 PM ET/PT through June 4.

Joanne Ostrow of The Denver Post hails The Riches as TVs most promising new heavyweight of the midseason, and praises Izzards performance as phenomenal and calls Driver a wonder to watch.

Izzard and Driver play "Wayne and Dahlia Malloy," gypsy travelers from rural Louisiana. The Malloys, along with their three children, go on the run after stealing money from the extended family bank. An unfortunate accident provides a great opportunity when they obtain the identity of a well-to-do normal family, becoming Doug and Cherien Rich. Seduced by the idea of a bigger life for themselves, and armed with the keys to a new house in a posh neighborhood, they soon find that suburban life is more twisted and challenging than any of their previous stings.

As the sole national sponsor, The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films will receive three commercial breaks to promote Grindhouse, the upcoming double-feature film directed by Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino. The first break is two and a half minutes, with the final two breaks lasting two minutes each.

The Riches was created by playwright Dmitry Lipkin, who wrote the pilot episode and executive produces along with Izzard. Writing partners Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin are also executive producers, along with Michael Rosenberg, Mark Morgan and Guy Oseary of Maverick Television. The Riches is produced by FX Productions and Fox Television Studios.

The Riches is the sixth drama to receive a full season 13-epsiode series commitment, following the Emmy and Golden Globe award winners The Shield and Nip/Tuck, Emmy and Golden Globe nominated Rescue Me, the critically acclaimed Over There, and Dirt starring Courteney Cox.

FX is the flagship general entertainment basic cable network from Fox. Launched in June of 1994, FX is carried in 90 million homes. The diverse schedule includes a growing roster of distinctive original series; an impressive roster of acquired hit series; and an established film library with box-office hits from 20th Century Fox and other studios.
