HALLMARK CHANNELS QUALITY PROGRAMMING TO BE RECOGNIZED AS THE 2007 CAMIE AWARDS BESTOW HONORS ON TWO FILMS

The Christmas Card and Hidden Places Recognized for their Uplifting Messages

Hallmark Channel is proud to announce that The Christmas Card and Hidden Places, two of the networks 2006 original movies, have been selected to receive 2007 Character And Morality In Entertainment (CAMIE) awards, which will be presented Saturday, May 12 at the Leonard Goldenson Theatre at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

CAMIE awards, Inc. began when a group of concerned parents created www.moviepicks.org, designed to help families find uplifting and inoffensive entertainment. The CAMIE award and presentation ceremony, designed to formally recognize and honor such projects, began in 2001. Previous CAMIE winners include Radio, Toy Story, Remember the Titans, and Hallmark Channel Originals The Reading Room, Love Comes Softly, Loves Long Journey and Loves Enduring Promise.

Hallmark Channel films which the CAMIE awards has chosen to honor are representative of the quality that viewers have come to expect from the network.

The Christmas Card, the networks highest-rated film of all time, tells the story of a soldier who receives an anonymous holiday card while serving in Afghanistan, an act which touches him deeply. Upon returning to the US, he seeks out the person to thank, and what he finds changes his life forever.

Hidden Places, for which Shirley Jones received Emmy and SAG Award nominations, centers on the struggle of a young mother and widow to maintain her familys orchard during The Great Depression. The help that she desperately needs comes in the unlikely form of a drifter, who tends to the orchard with a strange determination and familiarity.

Hallmark Channel, owned and operated by Crown Media Holdings, Inc., is a 24-hour basic cable network that provides a diverse slate of high-quality entertainment programming to a national audience of over 75 million subscribers.
