NEW YORK, April 17, 2007 Can you deliver a knockout punch line? Are your jokes built to go the distance? COMEDY CENTRAL, a division of Viacom's (NYSE: VIA and VIA.B) MTV Networks, is getting into the fight game and "Open Mic Fight" is every up-and-coming stand-up comedians chance to show what they got! Today, comedycentral.com is calling all contenders to register for "Open Mic Fight," the first-ever multi-platform, national stand-up competition. Burger King has signed on as the exclusive sponsor of "Open Mic Fight."

COMEDY CENTRAL's "Open Mic Fight" is looking to launch one lucky person's stand-up comedy career. "Open Mic Fight" will consist of several rounds of competition beginning with a preliminary round of approximately seventy-two regional finalists selected by COMEDY CENTRAL from the pool of videotaped and uploaded submissions received. The regional finalists will compete in one of nine regional stand-up competitions to be held in the following cities: Boston, New York, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Austin.

During the final rounds of the competitions, comedycentral.com will open up voting to its viewers. Online users will select three comedians/ "Viewers Choice Winners" to advance to the semi-finals. The 12 semi-finalists (made up of one winner from each of the nine regional competitions, plus three online "Viewer's Choice Winners") will compete in a live semi-final stand-up event on September 6 in Los Angeles for the chance to be designated one of the top three finalists.

Performance clips of each of the three finalists will be posted on comedycentral.com for viewers to watch and vote for the finalist contestant to be crowned the Grand Prize Winner of COMEDY CENTRAL's "Open Mic Fight." The grand prize will consist of the following: an appearance in a COMEDY CENTRAL Stand-Up Show, featured video exposure on comedycentral.com, perform as the opening act on a COMEDY CENTRAL Live Tour, inclusion as a "Featured Comic" on iTunes, Video-On-Demand and Mobile platforms, talent representation and $10,000 in cash.
