LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- ABC Family has pulled the plug on "Falcon Beach" after two seasons while A&E has quietly torpedoed its new reality series "Sons of Hollywood."
The latter has been pulled from its Sunday, 10:00/9:00c slot in favor of additional repeats of its lead-in "Gene Simmons' Family Jewels." The show's six remaining installments will be burned off as part of a three-hour marathon this Sunday starting at noon EST.
"Sons" opened to a lackluster 947,000 viewers on April 1 and its subsequent installments presumably performed even worse to merit being pulled.
As for "Beach," it's understood the show's cancellation is tied to a lack of viewership outside its core teen audience. The network co-produced the drama with CanWest MediaWorks, where it aired on the Global Television Network in Canada.
"Beach" will continue to run on Mondays at 7:00/6:00c on ABC Family, with its series finale tentatively slated for July 2.
