Springer Coming Off Hosting Duties on This Summer's Hottest Series "America's Got Talent"

UNIVERSAL CITY, CAJuly 16, 2007 The Tribune and Sinclair broadcast station groups have both extended their commitments to broadcast hit talk show franchise "The Jerry Springer Show" through fall 2010, it was announced today by Barry Wallach, President, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

Coming off this summer's biggest hit series "America's Got Talent" and a successful run on "Dancing with the Stars," Jerry Springer is headed into his 17th season at the helm of one of syndicated TV's all-time popular series.

The deal calls for the Tribune and Sinclair broadcast stations in the nation's largest markets, covering nearly half the country, to continue broadcasting "The Jerry Springer Show" for the next three seasons in national syndication. For the upcoming 2007-2008 TV season, "The Jerry Springer Show" is already renewed in more than 96% of the U.S.

Tribune stations carrying "Jerry" include WPIX-TV New York, KTLA-TV Los Angeles, WPHL-TV Philadelphia, KDAF-TV Dallas, WDCW-TV Washington D.C. and KHCW-TV Houston. Sinclair stations include, WPGH-TV Pittsburgh, WTTE-TV Columbus and WSTR-TV Cincinnati.

"Jerry Springer and Executive Producer Richard Dominick continue to deliver one of the most popular syndicated shows of all time," says Wallach. "The show continues to resonate with daytime audiences and we are excited to extend our successful relationships with the Tribune and Sinclair broadcast stations."

Jerry Springer added, "I couldn't be happier. I love the people with whom I work, the show is a lot of fun to do and thankfully viewers continue to enjoy it."

Tribune's Vice President of Programming and Development Marc Schacher stated, "We're delighted to extend our successful relationship with Jerry Springer and NBC Universal."

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to hit 20 years with Jerry, Tribune and Sinclair," says Executive Producer Richard Dominick. "We have a wonderful host, a great director, a brilliant producing staff and Rachelle Consiglio as our supervising producer. With all this, we could easily do another 20 years."

Springer, who is currently hosting NBC's top-rated summer series "America's Got Talent" and coming off an exciting run on "Dancing with the Stars," is entering his 17th season at the helm of "The Jerry Springer Show." During the just completed 2006-2007 TV season, the show attracted the highest percentage of persons 25-54 among all talk shows and the highest percentage of men 25-54 among all first-run strips, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The show, under the direction of Executive Producer Richard Dominick, has spawned two new shows this year, including VH1's series "The Springer Hustle." And starting this fall, Steve Wilkos will be launching his own daytime syndicated series, "The Steve Wilkos Show."
