COMEDY CENTRAL HOME ENTERTAINMENT RELEASES "BRIAN REGAN: STANDING UP" DVD HITTING STORES ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 14
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW YORK, July 30, 2007 -- All of the energy of a live Brian Regan performance is captured on the new DVD, "Brian Regan: Standing Up." The perfect balance of sophisticated writing and physicality, Regan takes a hilarious look at everything from greeting cards to transporting show horses to the "Antiques Roadshow." Released via COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment, "Brian Regan: Standing Up" DVD arrives in stores nationwide on Tuesday, August 14 and will also be available at http://shop.comedycentral.com and www.BrianRegan.com.
The "Brian Regan: Standing Up" DVD is a new original stand-up special that was taped by COMEDY CENTRAL at the Barclay Theatre in April in Irvine, California. Bonus materials include the unaired encore performance from the special and his half-hour stand-up special, "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents Brian Regan."
Recently, Regan completed the summer leg of his summer stand-up tour, "Brian Regan In Concert: A COMEDY CENTRAL Live Event." Regan kicked off the tour in June and will continue visiting cities nationwide through spring 2008.
One of the premiere comedians in the country, Regan is a regular guest on "Late Show with David Letterman" and has starred in his own stand-up specials on COMEDY CENTRAL and Showtime. In 2004, Regan released the hugely successful DVD, "I Walked on the Moon," a follow-up to his 1997 CD, "Brian Regan Live" which has sold over 100,000 copies. Regan's 2006 tour played to sold-out theaters and standing ovations in 74 cities, including a sold-out show at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.
"Brian Regan: Standing Up" is executive produced by Regan, Rory Rosegarten, Troy Miller and Tracey Baird. Troy Miller serves as director. Elizabeth Porter serves as the COMEDY CENTRAL executive in charge of production for this special.
