LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- Showtime has ordered a fourth season of its signature comedy "Weeds."
Production on 13 new episodes is set to begin in April, assuming the WGA strike is resolved.
A series high 824,000 viewers tuned into the show's third season launch on August 13 while subsequent installments have outperformed its sophomore season by 19% on average. "Weeds" also ranks as the network's most-watched original series among adults 18-34.
Jenji Kohan is behind the half-hour, which comes from Lionsgate in association with Tilted Productions.
