'Payne' Gets Holiday Duty on Tbs

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- TBS heading back to the "House of Payne" next month as the network has scheduled a special holiday episode of the series for Wednesday, December 5 at 10:00/9:00c.

"How the Wench Stole Christmas," the 38th original aired so far this season (no that's not a typo), is detailed as follows: "Tyler Perry's famed character Madea makes a return visit to the Payne household to teach Curtis (LaVan Davis) a lesson in the holiday spirit. This special holiday-themed episode opens as Curtis has problems containing his excitement over a vacation he and Ella (Cassi Davis) have planned to take to Hawaii. But with C.J.'s kids celebrating Christmas for the first time since their mom left, Ella decides to cancel the vacation, sending Curtis into a Scrooge-like tantrum that only Madea can snap."

Also returning for the holidays is the network's annual "24 Hours of 'A Christmas Story'" event. It begins at 8:00/7:00c on Monday, December 24.
