ABC FAMILY WILL MAKE ONE GIRL'S FAIRY TALE DREAMS COME TRUE WITH THEIR NEW REALITY SERIES "AMERICA'S PROM QUEEN"
Casting for This New Reality Series to Begin Immediately
(Burbank, CA November 29, 2007) ABC Family is set to launch a new reality show that will send several lucky high school girls on a fairy tale journey in hopes of being crowned "America's Prom Queen," it was announced today by Paul Lee, president, ABC Family. The six one-hour episodes will be executive produced by Patty Ivins and Julie Pizzi.
"This is a great show for our Millennial audience," said Mr. Lee. "Patty Ivins and Julie Pizzi are producing a show for us that will be packed with all of the drama, emotion, rivalry and friendship that go into choosing America's Prom Queen."
These high-school aged girls will begin their journey as they move into a storybook worthy mansion where they will face a series of challenges that will test their prom queen mettle. Each week, upon completion of the challenges, the girls will have to face the Prom Committee for weekly eliminations.
The Prom Committee will consist of judges who will represent various high school stereotypes. The Committee will judge the challenge and critique the girls performance each week.
At the end of the fifth week, the Prom Committee will have selected a Prom Court of finalists, who will then be voted on to be "America's Prom Queen" by the ABC Family viewing audience.
The finale will be an ABC Family hosted Prom which will be attended by the entire cast and their dates, during which the finalists will find out who America has chosen as "America's Prom Queen."
Casting efforts for "America's Prom Queen" will begin immediately. Those interested in submitting themselves or nominating someone else to be a part of this new show should log onto www.abcfamily.com/prom/ for more information.
