This holiday season, Discovery Channel is giving viewers the gift of all-day marathons of their
favorite programs, coupled with a 10 PM sneak peek of some of our new favorites from the
upcoming 2008 schedule.
Wednesday, December 26
Marathon: MYTHBUSTERS (9 to 3AM ET/PT)
Sneak Peek: SMASH LAB (during 10PM hour)
Wednesday is for MYTHBUSTERS, the popular series that uses modern-day science to uncover
the truth behind myths and legends. And at 10PM, Discovery Channel sneak peeks SMASH
LAB, set to premiere beginning January 2008. The next generation in destruction instruction,
SMASH LAB features a team of maverick engineers as they take on everyday technology and
apply it in revolutionary new ways. First they break the technology down to see how it works
and then use their know-how to see how it could be used in a different, super-sized way. Could
bullet proof Kevlar protect an airliner from bombs? Could a car airbag be reinvented to stop a
helicopter sinking after ditching at sea? SMASH LAB aims to find out.

All day on Thursday, DIRTY JOBS' Mike Rowe works alongside the men and women whose
work makes make civilized life possible for the rest of us � the turkey farmers, bug breeders,
penguin keepers, snake researchers, steam ship cleaners and more. At 10PM, SOME
ASSEMBLY REQUIRED tells the fascinating stories of items both high-tech and mundane �
from plasma televisions to toilets and toothpaste. As hosts Louis A. Bloomfield, Professor of
Physics at the University of Virginia, and Brian Unger, correspondent, humorist and producer,
explain: every object has a story and an incredible process behind it.

Adventurer Bear Grylls brings out the adventurer in all of us in this MAN VS WILD marathon.
At 10PM, the new January 2008 weekly series FIGHT QUEST follows champion fighter Jimmy
Smith and Iraq war vet Doug Anderson as they travel the world for the chance to hone their
martial arts skills, train with the world's best fight masters, immerse themselves in each culture
and ultimately face off against a local fighter.

From the heart of "Tornado Alley" with STORM CHASERS to the depths of the world's oceans
in BLUE PLANET, and on a wild trip around the world with extreme sportsman Will Gadd in
FEARLESS PLANET, Saturday's marathon spans the globe. And at 10PM, new series BONE
DETECTIVES, set to premiere January 2008, journeys to the farthest reaches of the earth.
Each week, archaeologist Scotty Moore takes viewers on a quest driven by the belief that the
secrets of the past have yet to be revealed. From the Peruvian highlands, home to the little
known ancient Chachapoya, to Egypt's Lower Nile, Moore treks the globe in a wild ride where
anthropology meets adventure.

For the Sunday marathon of this acclaimed viewer favorite, our cameras once again voyage to

On New Years Day, a special full-day marathon of DIRTY JOBS, hosted by Mike Rowe, will ring
in 2008.
From December 26 to January 1, Discovery.com will feature a "Win a HDTV a Day" sweepstakes
in conjunction with SNEAK PEEK WEEK, in which seven widescreen HDTV plasma TVs will be
given away to lucky viewers who sign up online at www.discovery.com/sneakpeek. The
sweepstakes will be promoted in :30 on air spots, and online banner ads.
