Hour-Long Special Episode Looks At UFO Sightings And Abduction

New York, NY � January 28, 2008 -- The creators of the #1 paranormal franchise in cable, SCI FI Channel's hit series Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International, are adding a new hunter to their roster, UFO Hunters. Airing on SCI FI Channel on Wednesday, January 30 at 10 p.m. ET, this hour-long special episode sets out to investigate claims of UFO sightings and otherworldly experiences with the help of New York Strange Phenomena Investigators (NY-SPI). Led by co-founders Oliver Kemenczky and Ted Davis, and supported by researcher/investigator Dennis Anderson, NY-SPI brings their decades of experience and unquestioned credibility in the UFO community to two fascinating cases. UFO Hunters investigates, reviews, and reveals, giving viewers a new perspective on the universe around them.

"UFOlogists" have always walked the fine line between science and fantasy and have long been a subject of ridicule. NY-SPI is a new breed of investigators who are using cutting-edge technology to legitimize the examination of evidence and separate genuine claims from works of fiction. In one case, the team must go to the bottom of the ocean to investigate a fireball that fell from the New Jersey sky. In the other, they interview eyewitnesses, including one man who claims to have been abducted, to investigate an unidentifiable object seen in the skies over two states, New York and New Jersey.

Emmy Award winning executive producer Craig Piligian, Tom Thayer and Piligian's Pilgrim Films and Television, produced UFO Hunters.
